Wow, what’s the history of this Precat. I’m fascinated. Has it always been LHD?

Hi, the car started life as RHD and was built for Martin Lilley (we chatted at the Pre80’s last year and I showed him pictures of the car, he lives round the corner from my sister). I purchased the car in 2000 and had and still have good friends at Bristol Ave which I would visit yearly. The late Mike Williams, bless him, helped me and Dave Bateman by getting out the moulds for the LHD whale tail and Dash board, I also sourced LHD inner engine bay panels. Mike also obtained for me LHD steering and all components. Car has been a nut and bolt rebuild to LHD, required by law for all cars in the Philippines have to be LHD.

The car has also recently been undergoing a full Resto-Mod, LT77 gear box replaced with T5, door mirrors now Audi TT with door opening buttons, new dashboard by Peter Wiggins with push start. Dom at TVR Power still had the build notes and provided new uprated cam and 5ltr pistons and other parts. All new engine management by Lloyd Engineering and green injectors. Equal length manifold from Clive Ford. All new electrics, LED headlights and the rears are GT40 Halo (made in the UK). All new interior (leather from Germany) Carpets and new hood with BMW glass rear window all from Lee at Unique Trim (Ex TVR). Wheels are Rotiform special order a larger version to mimic the Gottis to go over new larger brakes. Very happy with the work and can not wait to get back behind the wheel, cars are for driving not trailer queens.

Martin and Julie told me some very amusing stories about the car as the Griff was the car Martin was driving when they first courted.

Forgot to mention the bonnet, heat is an issue in the Philippines winters a pleasant 25C, summers up to 42C. So bigger fans, the bonnet with side (Chim style) vents was done by David Martin at Surface & Design, we also included Jaguar XKK vents, the outer curve of these vents matching the lines of the Griff Bonnet

The Jaguar vents are colour matched and will have gunmetal grey (same colour as the wheels) and 430BV in Papaya Orange.
