Hi All,

I run a Structural Engineering, Quantity Surveying and Party Wall Surveying firm based in the SE (Rock and Roll... I know).

We've always got by just fine with B2B marketing, based on the face that we're a young team who are easy to work with and people tend to like us. I suspect with an average age in the 30's, we're on the extreme low end in the "technical consultancy" age spectrum..!

We have invested quite heavily on google ads in the last year or so as Party Wall Surveying is still predominantly a B2C proposition, mainly because Architects tend to want to wash their hands of it (understandably). Party Wall Surveying is generally carried out by old fashioned, DIY website type chartered surveying firms (which we have made a real effort to differentiate ourselves from).

This is really just a bit of market research, but if you were looking for any of the above (but particularly a structural engineer or party wall surveyor) how would you find them? The RICS website, Google, clicking on a Facebook Ad you've seen?

Interested to hear...

Will

Google, for me.

But I always skip past the paid for ads (even though I use them for my own businesses), and I never blindly click on the first link. Ideally, you need to be on the first page but, from my point of view, you wouldnt need to be first.

I use Adwords to get to the top of certain searches, but I also use Trustpilot and a very small amount of social media.

Doesn't your website analytics tell you? It should, assuming you have them.
