They're back in stock..
They weren't.. But that didn't stop them accepting our order, and now it's a pain in the arse...
Was looking at lights.co.uk and they have stock but don't what the company is like.

I contacted a few suppliers who listed them as in stock, all came back to say that they weren't actually in stock...... So frustrating! Was looking at lights.co.uk and they have stock but don't what the company is like.

I have two of the Hue Ensis lights in the kitchen, one over the island and one over the dining table. Ended up having to order them from Germany and it still took 3 months for them to be in stock. I have no idea why they are so limited. They are lovely though. Even if they are a ridiculous cost for a pendant light.

Our kitchen has a similar layout to yours and I looked at the Ensis but wanted something sleeker, less visually obstructing. Ended up paying a lot more than the Ensis cost, so it actually looks quite good value! They are lovely though. Even if they are a ridiculous cost for a pendant light.
Look before you leap with the Hue app update, they have really messed it up in my opinion.
Worst bit is that instead of being able to see and change all the lights in a room/scene from one view you now have to go individually into each one. Oh yeah, and they scroll left to right you you can see fewer on screen at once.
Alternative - what are others using to control Hue? (Apple ecosystem here)

I paid for Hue Essentials for widgets and ease of multi hub accessibility but used neither feature and looks like new Hue app at least does the former.
Agree vertical view was easier but can still control whole zone/room the same way. Touch the room/zone then select scene. There are also more scenes to choose from.
Would like smaller buttons though. Again, to put more rooms etc on one screen without scrolling. I'm not that blind.

I use HomeKit. If you have an appleTV or iPad that doesn’t leave the house that can be a HomeKit hub. I've managed it, but it's not as obvious. When you select one of your lights at the bottom of the scene it takes you to another screen where you can blend and balance all the colours at once and now even drop lights from a particular scene. Think it is actually now better, just another step to get there. Think once you're used to it things will be fine, just the previous version was more intuitive.Worst bit is that instead of being able to see and change all the lights in a room/scene from one view you now have to go individually into each one. On my phone I also use the free version of Hue Essentials - I don't think it's as friendly as the main app and it can feel cluttered, however it will allow you to fully configure the dimmers how you like, so a number of mine control two rooms (using inner and outer buttons).. Additionally I also have All 4 hue, but that's because it is the only control software I can also get to work on my old 32 bit iPad (3rd gen).On my PC (Windows 10) I use Huetro for Hue - it's decent enough.

Haven't dug into it too much but the new UI style looks like it's designed for kids. Not promising.Worst bit is that instead of being able to see and change all the lights in a room/scene from one view you now have to go individually into each one. Then again, the last version of the app was a bit disappointing UI-wise compared to the one IT replaced, IIRC. Philips just seem to go backwards every time they make changes.
