I was hoping to get one, but way too expensive for me. Google phones were always about good specs at a good price, but this is in iPhone territory!

Find it strange they haven't gone for a phone that supports Tango as well as Daydream; combining the two would make an iPhone beater for sure.

Seems expensive to me. Part of the appeal of Android (for me) has always been either that they're cheaper to begin with or that you can get them cheaper by shopping around, with no loss in the functionality you get compared to iOS, indeed you often have more.

These would need to be very very good to negate that, and I'm not sure they're off to a good start with the camera. smaller aperture than the iPhones camera and no stabilisation for photos, but strangely for videos it does have it? I get they claim it has a fast shutter speed, but what about low light when you need to use a lower shutter speed?

Great looking phone but insane pricing. It doesn't look to have THAT much over the Nexus 5X/6P so why does it cost £350+ more?

Really surprised they haven't brought it in around £399 tops if they want it to be an iphone killer. At £599 for the base model, if I'm going to spend that much I might as well just stay in the Apple ecosystem I'm already in and just buy the iPhone 7.

XL with 128GB ... £819. WTF Google?

I'll probably wait for the new MBP and try and get them together on the business so I can get the VAT off (FRS).

I've owned several Nexus phones but definitely won't be getting another at that price! Disappointing frown

Considering the specs aren't really any better than a One Plus 3 or any other multitude of other android devices that cost half the price I wonder if they don't intend to sell a lot and just have them as halo products (especially the one over £800) to make the android platform more premium in the eyes of those who own an iphone?

I have been holding off replacing my Nexus 4 until this was officially released.

At £399 I might have gone for it but £599 is bonkers. Back to the drawing board for a replacement for me frown

OnePlus 3 @ £329 makes a whole heap of sense.

They don't. Android isn't exactly struggling for market share.

It's a premium device (construction, display, camera, SoC, fingerprint reader, etc) at premium prices for people that prefer Android. There'll be plenty of cheap options for people that don't want to pay more than £300 (or even £200) for a phone.

Interesting too that the regular size is within a couple of mm of an iPhone 6/7 in all dimensions. Apple apparently spent ages deliberating over sizes (design team having prototypes in dozens of sizes in small increments) before introducing the 6 and settled on that as it's a good compromise of screen and usability. It clearly works, and nice to see that we might be moving beyond the "bigger is better" (or at least that specs go up with screen size) thinking.

Exactly the same for me! I don't want a huge phone, so things like the 6p are out for me, so now thinking of a Nexus 5x or Moto X Play. I would consider a One plus X, but would like some customer support if things go wrong.

I wanted one when all the leaks were coming out but not at £719 for a 32GB XL.

I bet OnePlus have sold a big new batch of OP3s today. They are practically disposable compared to the Pixel.
