I've got a P6 Pro and looking to get an Android Auto system thing fitted into my car. If I go into Google Play it says Android Auto is installed (if I click on it in the store it says "uninstall" but there is no option to launch it, but if I go into my apps it is not there.
Any ideas as to how to launch the app?? I have gone into settings > apps > android auto and made sure it isn't "optimised" by battery settings etc.
Thanks
edit - it appears to just be "in the background" from my reading online, so no app to launch, per se...?
You don't have to, when you've got the head unit installed, pair your phone to the unit and/or connect via a cable, then launch AA from the head unit. Everything else should be straightforward. There are settings on the phone, but your head unit will tell you when you need to access them. Any ideas as to how to launch the app?? My 7 Pro takes about 90-120 minutes to install each monthly update. Has done since I bought it at launch. A PITA, but I know now to expect it so just leave it aside when I don't need it and hit the update button manually.
A far cry from previous Pixels, and in a different universe to Chrome OS also from the same stables.
Thought they'd have improved it since launch, but alas no...
It seems to be the 'Optimising your device' part of the update process takes up the biggest chunk of that time.

What's the big thing with a Pixel ????
TBH usually Pixel updates take around 10 minutes, this latest one however took a bloody long time. What's the big thing with a Pixel ????
I have a Galaxy S21 Ultra as my work phone, the updates on that take broadly similar times IME. Really don't like Samsung's interface "enhancements" though, much prefer plain Android.

Don't know. It wasn't/isn't this way with previous Pixel devices. 10 minutes or less was the norm, as with your S21.What's the big thing with a Pixel ????
Haven't looked anywhere to see if they've published anything publicly in recent months as to why the P7 series (and some P6 instances) are taking so much time for updates.
