I got a brand new p30 pro for £256 from O2 in the black Friday sale. Still can't believe the price. Had to take a 30 day tariff deal which I cancelled as soon as the phone arrived as it was within 14 days cooling off period. Get to keep the phone as I paid for it outright.

Yeah, crazy cheap indeed. Just checked and the deal has expired unfortunately - probably all sold out :-(

Going to add my thoughts if anyone is interested.

After an s6 plus and an s8 plus I went for the p30 pro.

Hate it, the screen resolution is poor after samsungs, doesn't sound a big deal but I notice it every day when browsing or whatever. It isn't as bright as the Samsung's I had.

Camera sold it for me but it's not that great really. The optical zoom sounded good and I suppose it is good for a camera but it's still crap I mean at higher zooms the pictures look st still you'd never frame them lol. Still carry a camera for photography work and in 3 months of having it I've never had one shot I thought was decent. the s6 still to this day has been the best phone camera I've had. Anything released since then seems to have this odd wormy sharpening applied and the p30 pro is no different. It also has a strange problem where you zoom and it struggles to pick which camera to use so can switch between two camera lenses back and forth a few times. I also think it's slow to focus. Amount of time I've lost the subject because the camera has been fking about is irritating.

Only good thing is it's battery which is superb but then it does have a very aggressive app killing approach to battery preservation (no issue for me) and the FHD resolution.

Shows some good advertising and internet gossip can go a long way.

I've just bought a note 10 plus to replace it, purely for its screen.

Interesting, compared side to side with my wifes S10 I find the P30 pro has a much more vibrant screen - really pops out and looks great. In terms of resolution, I can't honestly tell the difference between the 2 phones.

There are some really good deals on these right now - I've just ordered one

100gb of data, unlimited minutes and texts for £24.50 per month (after cashback)

Only had my OnePlus 6T for 14 months but the deal was too good to turn down

One thing I've missed from my old s6 and s8 is a lack of blinking led! Amazed at how used to that little flashing light I had got! Also on the camera front it really struggles to see through glass and wants to focus ON the glass rather than the photogenic thing the other side!

My last phone didn't have the LED either - I got used to it pretty quickly and in the end it actually helped me to stop checking my phone all time time

I went s8 to p20 pro almost 19 months ago, been out of contract since last June and was going to go for p30 pro but the O/H got it a few weeks before I was due to and I just can't gel with the curved screen even though I loved the curved screen on my s8. P20 pro seems to take better pictures at full zoom compared to her p30 pro, but that might not be true, just seems it to me. Her zoom is outstanding though.

I've got the Mate 20 Pro, that has the LED. I'm tempted to switch it off, as it tempts me to check the phone whilst driving - ooh, its blinking, I need to check the message ....

Thank you.

Any issues at all?

Was that on the 3 network?

Yes it's on 3 (my favourite network). I've used MPD a few times before - claiming the cashback is easy enough but some people don't seem interested in cashback deals

Claim it? Can you explain the cash back deal?

How can they do a contract cheaper than 3 themselves?

I appreciate you answering my questions.

This is the exact deal that I got. I got the monthly rate slightly wrong above I think

There is information on how you claim cashback on their "FAQ"

Going direct with a network always leaves you on a terrible deal. There are much better prices available with resellers (I don't really understand why to be honest) but it's been that way since I got my first contract 12 years ago. Mobiles.co.uk is also a good site. If you go on something like Money Supermarket to compare deals the resellers always offer the best rates

ETA - my rate above was right - they have put the monthly cost up from £41 (which is what I pay) to £43

Yeah that's the deal I'm looking at. Thanks for your help.

It looks too good to be true but if you've done it then it's obviously above board.

I'm already on 3 on my current main phone too, if that makes any difference.

So was I

They were a pain about me moving my number over, but I moaned a bit and they just ended my old contract for me at no charge and moved my number over immediately (originally they said I needed to complete the last 45 days)
