I use an app called 'Documents' on the iphone to save youtube videos to view offline. Perfect for my commute when there's no signal.

Within the app you go to http://en.savefrom.net in the web browser, copy the youtube link and click download to save the video offline.

Works perfectly and I've been using it for a long time.

Why are you people even talking about screen recording???
Just Google "download youtube video" and you will get a string of sites where you put in the youtube address and it downloads it to your PC. This is basic stuff guys. Always google first.
Your biggest problem is getting it onto your lovely Apple device. That's when your faffing starts. I did it for years with the iPad, converting formats and messing around with syncing iTunes. Now we are Android, it saved me hours and hours of messing around.

Interested in why you said to do it in an incognito window? Surely that just stops your history being recorded on the device, it doesn’t stop your ISP from knowing what sites you’ve visited?
Just to make it easy for the OP. Most online services offering YT downloads are riddled with ads and trackers and popups.
I've no way of knowing how his browser is configured, or what his level of knowledge might be.
But if he uses an incognito window in this instance he won't have questionable ad trackers stored on his device, and popups will be blocked by default with most private browsing sessions.

ETA; Sorry, just realised you are the OP who opened the thread. But yeah, what's above is the reason. wink
