Certainly no issues for me with either app (connectIQ to configure the watch, connect for tracking).

Only thing that's a tad annoying is it's approach to planning/tracking strength sessions - just seems to take far longer than it should need to.

Overall, I bloody love the thing.

Looking to replace my 235.

Saw a deal for the sapphire titanium for £640. Very tempting, thought about it and it went OOS, local dealer will match, but can’t help thinking the normal 6 pro for circa £350 is a better deal when it pops up again as have a HUKD alerts set. Man maths and want is telling me to just get the sapphire titanium. laugh

Handy thread…. Anyone use a Fenix 6 for activity tracking with a Vitality policy?

I had to swap my Fenix 5 for a 6 this week due to killing the 5. Set the 6 up the same, but for some reason Vitality doesn’t recognise ‘Walk’ activities for points any more. Wondered if anyone had experienced similar?

I’ve looked the XML export for the activity and looks identical from the 5 and the 6, so I can’t see why Vitality wouldn’t accept it but then again, they’re notoriously st.

Try the camping shops like Blacks or Cotswold Outdoor.

If possible, I‘d probably hold off for now. The 6 series have been out for nearly 2 years. I‘d expect a new version to be announced soon. https://the5krunner.com/2021/06/25/july-2021-sport... Suggests either in the next month or so or next year, so maybe worth waiting a month?

So either new shiny shiny tech or discounts on the old model.

I can't speak for the Fenix versions, but I think the activities are based on heart rate aren't they? Can you check if your HR is similar in the activities? My Vitality app says "30-minute workout at 60% age-related max heart rate" or "30-minute workout burning 150 kcals at 300 kcals per hour".

On Saturday I tested by doing a walk with a borrowed 5 and the new 6. The stats were basically identical between the watches, and Vitality recognised the one from the 5 but not the 6. So I’ve sent the 6 back and bought a replacement 5.

The difference in functionality between the two wasn’t enough to warranty the difference in price for me, and I need it to work faultlessly with Vitality. They’re a pain to deal with at the best of times, and I’ve got no chance of getting them to fix whatever the bug is, but what they charge me for my level of life cover just can’t be beaten.

Has anyone found good quality replacement straps for the fenix 6 pro? The Garmin ones are pretty expensive

Happy to have found this thread!

Does anyone use a smart wake-up function on their Fenix 6?

I really miss mine but can't seem to find a good offering on here.

I have bought replacement straps for my suunto from Amazon. These were around £10 I think versus £40 for the official suunto one.

Whilst there is a difference in quality it's not £30 worth and I don't regret buying it. I also think the stock suunto strap is of very high quality so the Amazon one punches well above its weight.

I appreciate this isn't a Garmin response but I guess I'm saying give the Amazon ones a try at the price I don't think you will be disappointed.

Also chase the summit on YouTube seems to always put replacements on his Garmin from Amazon as he links in the bottom of his videos.

Excellent, I will take a look. The Garmin prices are a bit daft for a bit of rubber but with this watch pretty much becoming the only watch I wear I thought a few different coloured straps would be a good idea.

I have a Amazon strap alongside the official one, and there is little difference. I also got a genuine titanium band which is lovely. I tend to wear that most of the time now, even during activities.

Was having a similar dilemma but have just ordered an Amazon strap in orange. Should arrive tomorrow, so I shall post my initial thoughts.

£450 is pretty cheap!

Regular 6?

On the topic of straps, I love my garmin titanium and regular orange strap - but I really want the navy blue jacquard strap that comes with the "Captain" MARQ. Only problem is, that it's over a £100 for a fabric strap!

Am tempted by one of these. Currently on my second Vivoactive HR as a screen scratch made the first inoperable. The current one is like triggers broom, having has several straps and screen protectors. What appeals is it's more watch like and I'm doing more hikes and cycling. It's probably overkill but will do all I'll ever need it to.

Probably as an upgrade.

Was an extra £85 upgrade when I bought it with the watch (from First Class Watches) - although from memory the 'offer' I sent which they accepted more than offset the bump in price for the extra strap.

I’m happy with the older tech if for the right price.
I saw this earlier morning, set to my watch list and was stuck in meetings this afternoon and forgot about it. Should have just bid on it but was rushing banghead

Bargain for less than £300. I know it’s nice to be the first to open something but that seems a good price if it’s all in working order. All boxed and with orange strap.
