It's funny we all see different things.
Whilst i appreciate the edgey minimalist design theme, that keyboard and mouse look like they'd be far better to look at than use.
Meanwhile, no wrist support.
I do love the monitor though. You could get sooooo many cells on a spreadsheet on that!!

I work from home most of the time anyway so my setup is a little more "bedded in" now ...
Works HP Probook connected to the monitor (MacBook gets stuck in the draw and monitor comes down onto the desk when doing some serious spreadsheet type stuff (so not very often).
IPad is my diary, contacts and webcam monitor to keep track of the free range toddler roaming about.
Macbook Air is for web browsing / non work stuff, and there is a Mac Mini on a KVM that chugs away doing downloads and other process type stuff.

Okay you lot, you've humbled my 12-year old Dell and £169 Samsung monitor. I now realise that my Viking Office chair has to go. My ex American Express call centre desk no longer cuts the mustard.
If I want to build a swanky work station what do I need?
I have to have three screens, that much is quite clear to me.

Two is the sweet spot, three is usually just a little willy waving for the lads (Like me) that work with code. It does look cool though. Productivity takes a rise too. Can read emails and PH at the same time!If I want to build a swanky work station what do I need?

IKEA desks tend to be good and cost effective. I've been meaning to upgrade from my blue thing for some time, to something a little more spacious. Chairs matter. The Herman Miller is 'the one' to have. There's around a grand though, so not really practical unless you spend a lot of time at home. IKEA do a decent chair too. I've got one of these in my 'real' office' At home it's a regular desk chair. I tried the super minimalist thing a few years ago and got tired of it, so a little more 'stuff' made it easier to work in.

Why are so many of you running multi-screen setups?
I find screen real estate hugely more important than cpu to be honest.its the electronic version of having 4 or 5 text books open when working on your dissertation in the library (if you are old like me and went to Uni in the pre wiki and google era)

I could have bought Porsche models, but the weight distribution was all wrong for the shelves....Gweeds said:
I like that - simple but elegant.I have a Hermann Miller chair at work - the best of the ones available but it's not quite right for me. The back is good but the base isn't right - when I stand up after sitting in it for a couple of hours, my legs are as stiff as a 51yo's (I am 51 - and very stiff).
I like the look of your chair - do you know what make/model it is?
