You can change what shows on each desktop in MacOS or W10.

In W10 you right-click on the desktop and go to Display settings and select the relevant layout/position/arrangement and desktop mirroring/extension in there (there are keyboard shortcuts to do this, but I'm not sure if HP laptops use the same key command as others - mine is Fn-F4).

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/set-up...

On MacOs (well Big-Sur anyway) you can choose the relevant layout/position/arrangement and whether to mirror (tick box at the bottom of the window) or extend the desktop in the Displays preference pane...you'll see an 'Arrangement' tab in addition to the normal tabs once you have a 2nd/3rd monitors attached.

Are you talking about a remote desktop that spans two screens? This is possible using VNC but I don't know how you configure the mac's built-in version...

Or are you talking about physically bringing the mac into your office and plugging it into two screens?
My interpretation was connecting to a Windows PC at the office with RDP, so the two screens on the PC at the office appear on two separate screens on the Mac.

According to https://www.techrepublic.com/article/making-window... 10 Pro should be able to server multiple screens - so not sure what is going on there.

You’re right. Just tested it between two WIN10 Pro machines and it works fine. smile

OK, I've just RDP'd from my MacBook Pro to a 10 enterprise machine and had one of the displays appear on an external monitor, one appear on the built in. There's a checkbox in the RDP client to "use all monitors" so looks as if it will do what you want.

Just upgraded from my twin Acer 27 inch screens to these triple Dell 27 inch screens.

Centre and left screen powered by work laptop, which operates in the closed position and sits on the pod to the left.

Right screen runs off a Dell i5 mini PC and has a Blu Ray player attached for surfing, movies, etc for any downtime / evenings / weekends.

IKEA Markus office chair.

Amazon Echo Studio and laptop docking station back left and label printer, old Epson all in one to the right that refuses to die. Have a laser printer ready to replace it.

Looks great. I hadn't thought of using separate machines before.

I've been looking for an excuse to buy a mac mini, but not willing to sacrifice my current PC, and adding a 3rd screen on this kind of mount, might be the answer to a problem I don't particularly need to solve.

lol. yes was the same for me really. I dont particularly "need" my own PC in that setup but it looks well and works well.

Those monitors werent a fortune either - Dell have a deal on and i got them for £116.99 each.

Amazon. Do check that you're ordering the correct one though, as there are two versions of the Aeron chair.

Thanks, I bought one a few weeks ago for my Remastered.

Mind if I ask how taut yours is? I did think mine wasn't as tight as I was expecting when it arrived and after a few weeks I can see it's stretched a little. It's comfortable enough but sags a little too much for my liking, wondering if it's just mine.

Moved house on Friday so now have a dedicated office to work my shifts from. Good job as been offered some overtime on nights this week.

Nothing fancy just a cheap Ikea desk I bought a few years ago but gives me more space.

Quite a bit more space than before.. Can't believe I managed 1.5 years of 12 hour nights and days at the desk below.

For £300 you could free up most of the desk. Like you say, unsure why you'd work like that for 1.5 years!

The left laptop is work supplied Win 10, The middle machine is my daily LG Chromebase that acts as a 2nd monitor when I'm working. The right laptop I use for personal browsing while I'm working.

When I'm not working the left and right machines aren't there.

The old house didn't have a dedicated area so it was either there or the table and have to keep removing equipment every time we ate.

I just bought a 3m solid wood kitchen worktop on a whim, after not having anywhere to put my tea.

Now it's here, it looks ridiculously long, still in it's wrapper in the hall. Was planning on putting it on some ikea drawers, but perhaps it's too long for that, looking at it! Might build some cupboards for it and go all in.

Few monitors and cables, laptops stacked or down the side, then some software to allow flow between them (maybe can't install on work laptop). Or a K&M tucked away for home laptop when not in use.

When the LG Chromebase dies going to replace it with a mini desktop fastened to the back of desk and 2 big screens but for now this will do. Yeh cant install anything on the work machine.

I use a USB adaptor - works fine. Think mine is a Dell, other brands are doubtless available…
