Camcorder Recommendations?

Evening all,

My sister's due to pop one out in a few months and she's asked me to buy her a camcorder. (clearly i'll give it to her after the messy part - nbody wants to see that)

Now I was in Singapore about a week ago but spent the time I should have been poking around Sim Lim on the lash instead, so now I've just spent the last hour on amazon and dixons' website trying to distinguish between the millions of models available.

My criteria are:
Small and light, easy to use, good picture quality, must be able to take digital pictures too, and preferably use digital media as opposed to tapes.

Anybody got one they can recommend?
