I love the 50s Pontons. This is a 220 sixpot.

The details on 70s S-class cars are amazing. Check the gutter on this 450 SEL 6.9er.

Adenauer chique.

Had hundreds of Mercs over the last few years but these three are all keepers:

SL500 - Resprayed two years back, genuine two piece BBS and I have the AMG kit being painted in the next few months

W210 E55 - Owned for the longest, rust free and on 83K

Bought as a barn find a few years back, completely restored it, all the rare bits on it (gen AMG kit, AMG MONO Steering Wheel) and only 32K miles. I also have a Mossellman Twin Turbo and a Cosworth dogleg to go on it (eventually!)
Would love it for you to share a bit more of the C124 AMG please Dan..

Fantastic collection of 57 Mercedes-Benz jewels. My story with Casper Heij pictures in Mercedes Enthusiast this month.

Two more repos coming up: electric R107 and these 2:

Fantastic Mercedes-Benz AMG SL60 6 litre V8: what an absolute jewel of a car.

Another gem is this E50: perfection on wheels. Superb E-class with 5 litre AMG V8. There's just no way modern cars can match the pure class and feel of 90s cars. In my eye the era when the best cars ever were made.

After managing to crack both nearside AMG wheels, I needed some replacements ASAP.
First I got these that turned out to be egg-shaped so were replaced

These I think look better and have a lovely rear dish.

Next week I'm going to this 57-piece collection again. Well, 58 as we speak... Maybe check Mercedes Enthusiast magazine and browse to page 44 to see what's in the vault.

Not as grand as the stuff on here but just bought my first ever merc. A 2014 Vito sport x Brabus. Got sick of looking at overpriced dubious vw transporters and bought and overpriced merc instead. It’s covered 90000 miles and is in great nick, the interior is immaculate. We bought it for leisure use really as our family trips to triathlons etc involve so much kit even an estate is a pain to load.

The acceleration is quite addictive too when white van man starts tailgating.

Only issues I need to sort are the aircon which seems to have a fairly slow leak somewhere on the system and the reversing camera which has died. The air con is important, the camera not important as it wasn’t advertised as having one and I didn’t realise until after I bought it.

I'm not posting photos of the cars because they are rather boring: two C200CDi estates, one 2012 I bought used direct from Mercedes fleet with 15,000 on the clock in 2013 and which has now passed 150,000, and another from Nüssen, 2014 this time, and with but 29,000 on the clock. Far. far cheaper in Germany than France. That was preceded by a W202 C220CDi bought in 2001 new for an astounding £17,000, a car already old stock because the W203 had arrived, and sold off very cheaply in Denmark to get rid of them. That did 350,000 before I sold it to a friend for his wife. They still have it and still love it.

So that's our two cars, useful for golf and going to the tip, no real performance but 100% reliable. But the amazing thing is that the total I have spent on repairs this century is £2,000, two front springs on the W202 and to replace the aircon pump on the same car. The W204's have to date cost nothing, not one brass farthing. We have never even had to replace a battery on any of the cars. But despite their lack of power, they can still pick up their skirts and go. This was a trip in the first W204, the return from Alicante to Le Mans in 2019. Not bad for a base model.
