Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio - Tyre Choices?
Discussion
Size recommendations for the PS4S seem to vary. I've also seen one owner mention this:
- front 255/35
- rear 305/30
Any owners here tried this combination?
I use the PS4S on my Mk3 Focus RS so know how amazing they are. I'm planning what I do for my incoming QV. I'm not sure if should switch the Coras immediately or wait until they're below 3mm tread.

Wear your Corsa's out first, they'll be fine now the winter is nearly over. You'll be wasting money upfront. They really are not as bad as what people keep making out. In fact far from it, the reason I swapped to MPS4S was the full lock noise in cold weather, stone collector's and tyre wear from the Corsa's (I did get 14k however).
I've gone 255/35 upfront with no issues, and 295/30 for the rears. I did read about a guy in the USA going 305 but I thought that was too much and running a massive risk of rubbing. There really isnt much space in the wheel barrel, you'll know what I mean when you get yours and put your hand inside and there's mm's between the tyre and barrel.
The other reason I went 255 / 295 is to help with the rolling resistance speed measurement, somebody in the USA had a good case for it but I cant remember properly. All I know is the 255's fit easily upfront with no rubbing and the 295's look stunning, proper staggered without the need for spacers.
The tread wear is also amazing on the MPS4S, 4k miles already in and only worn .5mm.

Out of interest, what are people getting from their Corsa tyre?
I've only got less than 6k on mine in the year and there is less than 3MM on them all round. At this rate I'm looking at replacing them every 7K.
I've looked at this thread with interest, but have had no issues with Corsa's in the cold - find the grip more than adequate. I'm finding it hard to move from tyres designed specifically for the car...
But at 7K per set, they seem a tad expensive. For reference, I wouldn't consider my driving hard driving, but it's not pedestrian either.

I’m on 4500 and they are more or less finished, I haven’t driven particularly hard or any different to other cars I’ve had. The the noise/skip on full lock is also very bad now, even when they are warm. They are on about 4mm, pretty crap tbh, I’ve never rated Pirelli. I’m shopping around for MPS4S, around £830 fully fitted is about as good as I can find, that’s for 295-255.I've only got less than 6k on mine in the year and there is less than 3MM on them all round. What about the Goodyear F1 Supersports?
Or pray it's dry!
I think the Corsa's will be fine whilst once up to temp.... but worried about them melting like at North Weald. I'm going to get a price for the Goodyears though! Michelins prob still the best all rounder.Or pray it's dry!
Plan b is to take my 1966 Giulia but she's burning a little oil at the moment so worried I might get black flagged for white smoke or something...!

I'd be more worried about it being cold and wet this time of year on Corsas.
8 week wait for PS4S 245 fronts! So not looking good that I can get a set! Trackday is 18th of Oct at Silverstone.https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyre-details/michelin-pil...
As an alternative, consider Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Not quite up there with PS4S but still very impressed with mine. Got a cheap deal on 245 front and 295 rear.

If it's dry I think this time of year the Corsas will be fine (once warmed up). It was quite a warm day at North Weald and the surface did seem to be very abrasive.
I was wondering about doing this day too. Are you getting insurance?
Yes I'm going to pay for insurance based on a value of £40K, (insuremytrackday) not the cheapest but it doesn't bear thinking about! I was wondering about doing this day too. Are you getting insurance?
Now the car is 2.5 years old I feel a bit more relaxed about what hopefully should be a safe fun day.

I think that a 1966 Giulia might be a little boring on the International Circuit;you've got the very long Hangar Straight (where you'd have time to order a take-away pizza

followed three corners later by the fairly long International straight,
which together make up quite a portion of the relatively short Int. circuit compared to the G.P. Circuit.
