Glad to hear it’s all sorted & sounds, by the difference in running, that something electrical was going on before the ECU expired.
Mine failed it’s MOT on an offside wishbone. There had been a knocking over poor surfaces so kind of knew. I elected to have both replaced as best practice (& it’s a keeper!) but they had to be ordered direct from Fiat so took a few days. Also added some new ARB’s while they did that job
Also failed on 2nd idle emissions (sorted by a bottle of Cataclean) & a full beam bulb.
Now back & freshly serviced feels nice & tight again. Love these little cars.
Thank you and good to see yours is back on the road too, I held off replying as didn't want to jinx the MoT on mine that was due yesterday. Thankfully it went straight through although the MoT tester did comment I should drive it a bit more...wise words and hopefully a spell of reliability will allow me to.Mine failed it’s MOT on an offside wishbone. It's definitely running better than ever and not my imagination, fingers crossed it'll stay that way.
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I’m going to need a set of tyres in a month or so and I’m wondering whether I should go for Michelin Pilot Sport 5 (I currently have these on the front and Pilot Sport 3 on the back - the original tyres) or something different, being as I will be replacing all at once.
I have no complaints with the Michelins, I just wondered if anybody had had particular success with a different tyre.

I'll join the party as well as bought one last July as our MX5 met its end, don't ask!
Its a 595C Tourismo. It came from a Abarth main dealer its a sorta one owner car as it was was leased to a lady who when the lease finished bought it.
It was due its 4th service in December last year which I had my local MD do. They hired me an electric 500E whilst it was in dock, I quite enjoyed it to be honest.

Cheers Pidsy - are those the PS71s?
TR7V8 - that is a great looking car!
Thanks when it was last serviced the owner had new Yoko's put on. Someone changed them for some weird chinese rubbish before I bought it. I thought I'd need to change them ASAP but they grip well & I suspect they'll have a short life but as a toy that does limited miles that doesn't worry me.TR7V8 - that is a great looking car!
I have had a CANPhantom fitted & use a DiskLok. My mechanics words when I bought it was get a big dog, a big hungry dog & a chain, because they get nicked!
That seems to be the case the Kent Abarth FB group has seen multiple thefts.
Went to look at one over the weekend with the OH. 2018 with 15k on clocks, few things like kerbed wheels etc but it's from a dealer for sub £13k, overall condition is fairly sound.
It's got the smaller head unit with the 5" (I think) display & UConnect. Can this be retrofitted with a newer unit with android auto? Or what like is uconnect these days? Posts online don't fill me with confidence and I'm not a fan of software like this that could be rendered useless at any given time...

Uconnect was terrible when new
That sounds about right
Deposit paid. car is getting a new tyre (wee tear in sidewall) fresh discs, pads, service & MOT then picked up a week today. We can't wait!
Getting rid of all our cars and going down to 1 (plus my work car). Will be her daily driver and for both of us to hoon around in.
Will get plenty pics once we've got it!

Is there a record of the cambelt and water pump being done? It may be low mileage, and the recommended change is 40k or 4 years.
Incredibly well timed reply. Was just reading up on intervals. Have put question to the dealer as can't remember off the top of my head. All my cars have been chains for the past 12 years or so, didn't twig originally to check!
Looking back in this thread, folk seem to be around £350ish for it if that sounds right?
Mine is booked in with a specialist in a couple of weeks. Quoted £340. When I mentioned that it had a full service by the main agent I bought it from a year ago, and that it just required an oil and filter change, there was a sucklng of breath, and said 'I like to use the proper oil, so it'll be £400 all in, is that OK?'
Guess what I said!

Where are you based? I was quoted alot less. I also shopped around the few Abarth dealers and was offered a cheaper price. Guess what I said!

I've got my Comp booked in for a cambelt at our local Abarth specialist for the beginning of May, £425 including the water pump (all genuine parts). Colleague at work had his done recently at our local and now defunct Fiat/Abarth main dealer and it was definitely well north of £500.
Frequency is supposed to be 4 years although I've dragged mine to 5 as only on 15K miles, they do snap apparently although not with the frequency of say an Alfa Twin Spark.
Oh and tyres...mine came from new on Pirelli P Zero Nero, I've just replaced with the same as really liked them. Probably not as grippy as the Michelin but a nice all round tyre nonetheless, got them for £99 each fitted at a main dealer as couldn't get close price wise anywhere else. Got the Kumhos' fitted to my Alfa 916 Spider and they really suit the car, would certainly put the same on again.
