I paid £450 for a belt & pump change last year.
On tyres, much like Wal, I’m also on P Zero Neros & impressed with them, & I’ve not been a fan of Pirelli's over the years….
I’ll be replacing like for like when the time comes.
That seems to be quite common on these. I've personally not had great thoughts on P Zeros in the past and have opted for Michelin pilot sports on my other cars. On tyres, much like Wal, I’m also on P Zero Neros & impressed with them, & I’ve not been a fan of Pirelli's over the years….

May just be the weight/geometry that makes it 'suit' certain tyres. My brother ran T1Rs on his elise for as many years as they just suited his driving style!
Appreciate the figures on timing belt all. Turns out this car was owned by my OHs cousins husband for a couple years, he then sold it to his mum then we're buying it!
He's not told us to run away so that bodes well

Thanks for all the tyre replies everyone. I have a few choices - does anyone have any experience with the Goodyear Eagle Asymmetrical? I can get a good price locally and they review well but can’t find anything in them being fitted to a 595.
Not on the Abarth but have had Goodyear Assymetric on lots of cars & they are very good.Drooles said:

After I got rid of my 595, I had a Megane RS and I switched to the Eagle's after replacing the stock ContiSport 5's and I remember being disappointed in them.Weirdly, they looked f

Performance wise they were good and certainly not lacking grip but I remember being disappointed by the steering feel. Reviews commented how direct they were which was a major factor in me buying them but to me, something felt just not quite right and that constantly bothered me.
What's the general consensus on the MTA? is it as utterly woeful as the YouTube reviews seem to state?
Wifey is badgering me to buy her a summer car for our Madeira home and there is a 2017 (facelift) low KM's high-spec 595c Tourismo MTA for sale with a local dealer. Cars in Madeira (and Portugal) are crazy money, so the car works out at circa £17.5k, but anything comparable is also crazy money (Mini Cooper convertible etc etc). This is the island where a leggy Porsche 996 Cab can be sold for over £40k!
This is the car:- https://hspautomoveis.pt/viatura/abarth-595c-ID130...
among various other cars we keep on the island, we have a little Smart 450 (2004 car), which is great for blasting around town and uses zero fuel. We have grown to love the clunky, slow and dim-witted robotised auto gearbox (the key is to drive it in manual mode and use the paddles), so I am guessing the MTA is going to be pretty similar?
We did have a 500c TwinAir auto here in the UK a few years back which was great fun. The only issue we had with it was a stone flicking up and jamming the gearbox actuator (leaving me stranded by the side of the road at 4am on the way to the airport, thereby missing an important business meeting in Croatia later that day).
Silly idea?

I have only driven one MTA 595 (a 595c Comp) a colleague has and personally didn't like it, unfortunately it made my search for my own Comp that much harder as all the late stock cars seemed to have this instead of manual. He has had zero problems with the gearbox and his car is pretty high mileage now so I don't think they had the issues the Selespeed had, not heard of people on forums having any common snags with them either.
If asked for a view though, you're used to that type of gearbox in your Smart (it's better than that) and for an island runabout it's probably ideal. Looks pretty tidy and has got some useful upgrades (7" screen and Beats audio), like the interior colour too.
ETA: It's a Pista edition rather than a Turismo spec.

First 'proper' drive at the weekend, went up north with some friends for some ice cream.
What a silly little car the 595 is. I do have to admit it doesn't deal with bouncy backroads overly gracefully but oh man what a laugh. Deceptively fast, too. 180bhp and weighing as much as a lettuce will do that, I suppose!

I find the obnoxious exhaust sound to be particularly hilarious.

Sums these up perfectly. Rides like a pogo stick, loud, brash but what a hoot. Mine has a bombardone on it too for added farts and obnoxious noises. I went from an IS250 to this and no regrets
