Deffo a future classic, I suppose especially the 2016-17 manual versions.
Lucky me I got hold of a 1990 75 3.0 just before they shot up in value (2016) and the Giulia is now regarded as the modern equivalent.

Sure, engine warning lights etc etc but people rarely get stranded (right?) and to be honest - the Alfa 75 was probably the worst bulit car on the market in it's day.
(I also have a 1985 Fiat Argenta which seems solid like a Mercedes compared to the Alfa... smile )

On the verge of pulling the trigger.

Just need to make sure that the +2 years warranty extension is a Mopar one, not wesellanywarranty.com

Future classic? Yup.

Rare? Yeah, they didnt sell that many in comparison to its competitors. So thats ticked.

Special? Oh yeah, amazing reviews and one of the best, if not the best in its segment

Brand? Yup. Those that know, know. Those that dont, probably dont care, but thats fine, we are aiming at enthusiasts anyway!

Exotic materials? Ok, maybe not a carbon special, but it has a Ferrari engineered engine, so there is that!

There you go. Limited supply, rare, excellent brand and highly regarded to its competitors. Includes parts from other brands and is a special car for what it is. Hits all of the points needed for some sort of classic and increase in value. And as numbers diminish over time, they arent going to make something like this again - so when you break it down, instant classic the likes we wont see again. So yeah, just buy one!
I was going to reply but you’ve hit the nail on the head.

Bought a Sauber F1 edition for this very reason, it’s stored away with 50 miles on the clock.

I test drove the M3 Comp today.

See if you can spot the moment it unexpectedly got a bit out of shape coming off a roundabout.

Compared to the Quadrifoglio, the M3 felt more brutal, more raw, less refined. The end result for me was that it felt less confidence-inspiring, and not as much fun to drive as the Alfa.
Interesting stuff. It really does seem like everyone who drives one loves it. So when are you picking it up?

I'm resisting test driving one until later this year as I know the second I do I'm more than likely going to fall in love with it and end up buying one. I want another 6 months out of the 440, then it's 500 bhp time biggrin. I don't even need a saloon, or even a car at all living in London lol, but this is the first time in ages that I feel a truly special car has come out and it's really captured my imagination.

Awesome. Nice job! I'm keen to see pics and also hear (well, hopefully not hear) the reliability report.

It’s currently a 4 month lead time plus another four months if you want tri-coat paint. I want the Competizione Red, so I’m looking at a January 2022 build date.

If they make Rosso Etna available on a shorter lead time, I’ll probably look to change my order to that but the current rumours are that Rosso Etna won’t be available until late 2022.

Yup. If you check the configurator, you’ll see that they’ve removed all the tri-coat colours, to mamage customers’ expectations. It’s unclear what the underlying issue is but I wouldn’t be surprised if I get a phone call in a few months to tell me that Comp Red is no longer available.

So, your car may be one of the last Comp Red models manufactured! Enjoy! And share some photos when it arrives!

Collected and had a rather enjoyable drive home over the Dale’s....

Although after walking the dog last night and returning to the car I noticed one side of the splitter down ... and it’s solid.
Cars barely been used over last 6 months so am wondering if it has went down and now ceased up....

But ignoring that. That car is superb. Not sure why anyone would choose an M3 over this !

Looks better than an M3, even with one side of the splitter stuck down! I hope that's an inexpensive fix.

It's weird how good red brake calipers look on a red Giulia.

Spoke to dealer today and pick mine up on Friday. He confirmed Comp red has being discontinued and mine will be one of the last. Not sure if they are committing to build existing orders with that colour (I would imagine yes) but you certainly can’t order one now.

As of 20th May, the steer from Alfa Romeo to dealers was that the tri-coat "colours remain open for customer sold order only. However, please ensure the customer is made aware of potential long lead times before placing orders."

I wonder if they realised that they need to cut off the Comp. Red orders now so they can complete them all in time to start doing Rosso Etna in time to start delivering the GTAs.
