Fiat 124 Spider 3 year service price?
Discussion
Hello all.
I'm shopping around for some quotes for the 3rd year service of my girlfriend's 124 Spider and I'm getting some pretty lofty quotes.
I've checked an independent Alfa/Fiat/Abarth place that was recommended on here, and they want £350+VAT for the service plus £70+VAT for the spark plugs, which takes the whole thing to £500. Seems pretty expensive, given it's a pretty standard engine.
The main dealer is also quoting £350 for the 3 year service, but didn't mention the spark plugs.
Is this commensurate with other people's experiences of this car?
Cheers.

Probably not much help if you're in the UK, but here is my quote for a 4 year/75,000km service with a main dealer in New Zealand (prices in NZ dollars, current exchange rate is $1NZ - $0.51. GST is the local equivalent of VAT and is 15%)I'm shopping around for some quotes for the 3rd year service of my girlfriend's 124 Spider and I'm getting some pretty lofty quotes.

Check with the Abarth website what's included in the service breakdown cost.
Put your reg and mileage and postcode in here, then see the cost .... https://www.abarthcars.co.uk/mopar/book-a-service
But, if it's the same price with a main dealer as a specialist, then specialist every time (especially if it's AHM that you are referring to in your post).
edited to add, I didn't have my Abarth 124 long enough for it to need sparkplugs, but if it's at all relevant, then the spark plugs at a recent service on "Mrs. jonscz's" regular Hyundai i20 were £20 each...!

Thanks both for your responses.
Minor update: she's gone and sold the Fiat 124 now and bought the full blown Abarth 124 (it's absolutely awesome
), which does not need a service for some time.
Yes, it was AHM I was referring to. Not criticising them - I've heard nothing but good things - just wanted to clarify the price really. Incidentally, that link returns a very similar price to what was quoted by the independent, so that's good to know.
Cheers for the help guys.

That's brilliant - hope she enjoys it - they are great fun. Maybe she could be 'persuaded' to get AHM to remap it (they did mine) and turn it into the car it should have been from the factory. It did transform the car.
