Let's see your Alfa Romeos!
Discussion
This is my 50k mile GTV 3.0 V6 that replaced my E86 Z4 Coupe.
The first owner kept it for 18 years and it was always kept in a garage.
In 2019 a chap in the Alfa Romeo Owners Club bought it and stripped a lot of the panels off to carry our preventive rust treatment which was all photographed at the time so hopefully it is one of the better ones out there. He also spent a huge amount of money on suspension parts, brakes and general service items.
He also replaced many of the fixings with stainless steel items and put on a full Alfaholics stainless steel exhaust but this will soon be replaced with a Wizard system.
The third owner bought it in 2023 and I then got hold of in Sept 24 only to find out that the third owner hadn't looked after it quite so well. It had been stored outside near the coast but he had also been doing a lot of building work to the house so it has a few scratches here and there which I hope to sort out over the next year or so. Some of the items that he had receipts for had definitely not been touched so either he was telling a few tales or the garage that he used were less than honest!
Compared to the Z4 it rides a lot smoother and has far less squeaks and rattles.

The stainless steel updates sound interesting, do share what they were.
Nice that preventative rust actions were taken by the earlier owner.
I found mine kept of rust as it got used a lot all year round where the engine would still be warm many hours later.
Enjoy.
Mine squeak a bit but at 166k miles it’s part of the character and only when pushing it

Thanks for the kind words, I was a little disappointed when I collected it as my Z4 was pristine but I do think with a small tidy up it will be up to my standards. It has been to the garage that I use near my office twice and on both occasions they had somebody asking about it and if it was for sale, that never happened with the Z4.The stainless steel updates sound interesting, do share what they were.

Whilst there I had a good look at in whilst it was on the ramps and yes there is a small about of corrosion on some of the parts but the Z4 had this too. After failing the MOT on parts that the seller said he had replaced it went through without any advisories.
In regards to the stainless steel lots of the fasteners under the bonnet were replaced with stainless steel so nothing much but it's these small details that hopefully help in the future.

I wouldn’t rush to replace the Alfaholics exhaust. They are extremely good quality (hence the price!) and are designed for genuine performance benefits, not just lots of noise.
I agree it is a very well made system and I'll keep hold of it incase I don't get on with the Wizard system. I'm going for the single sided version so that I don't have to modify the rear bumper and as the car is a weekend toy I would actually like a little more noise from it. I've checked with a neighbour and he approves!

Since my Alfa got some rough edges it meant I was happier to use it more often and hence enjoyed it more than when pampered and avoid some trips.Ah, well... No worries m'am. It's just a scratch.
