No. I never met mine. All though my girlfriend popped over to post his cheque through the letterbox. Or they were having an affair. Either way, you don't need to meet up for a natter.

None at all. I am a trainee solicitor in a real estate department at a City firm, no client has ever come to our offices for a simple sale/purchase. Any documents to be signed are either posted or emailed out and posted back. Foe the purchase of my house we used a solicitor at the other end of the country.

You may need to visit one locally to verify your identity for anti money laundering purposes

One house i sold I used a solicitor miles away and was dealt with by either email or post, no problems at all.

Current house thought i'd use a local solicitor and it turned into a nightmare, good job it was local as i'd have to visit their offices to give them a shove to do things.

I prefer to deliver/sign documents in person - to speed up the transaction. But it's usually their assistant that I speak with.
