I will be moving house soon and for a number of reasons that I shalln't go into there is no insurance to cover the move. It will be a professional company doing the move (they cannot provide insurance) and it is all within the UK. The total time in transit will not exceed 36 hours and the value of items is under £10,000.

Are there any companies that people have used or can recommend to provide insurance. A quick scan on Google has yielded a site that offers it for £100.

Thanks in advance!

PS: Home insurance will not cover the move.

Is that both the home insurance of the place you are moving to and the home insurance of the place you are moving from (is it the same provider for both policies and thus the same limitation?)

I don't have insurance at the flat I'm moving out of, only at the house I'm moving into. I called the provider for my house and they would only cover a move FROM the house. They wouldn't offer cover even for an additional premium.

If you've not worried about insuring the gear in the flat, why worry when it is in the van?
