Hi I have a faded patchy wooden floor in the dining room (20sq m) Would I be able to improve things with a coat or two of wax. As a quick fix? Ideally I would like a darker colour as well.

I know it needs sanding restaining etc (I reckon approx £400 for this) but as an owner of a new puppy I don't want to this just yet till fully house broken.

Wax won't take through varnish so there is no point doing anything until you have been able to get the sanding done.
