So after we sold the C30 T5 as a push chair wouldn't fit in it. We some how ended up with a Diesel V60 rolleyesrolleyes well after some searching I found the perfect replacement a V60 T6 Polestar.

Some of you may know its spec but if you don,t Its not just a polestar Optimized car. Polestar took a standard T6 3 litre straight 6 with twin scroll turbo and tweaked it making about 365bhp with Haldex 4 wheel drive and 6 speed auto with manual paddles. Ohlins manually adjustable suspension lowered stiffer springs and 370mm Brembo six pots on the front.
Like most things it starts out as a keeper then you start playing.
First off was the intercooler as I have a mate who makes intercooler cores I decided to make my own to fit the car going for a 15mm thicker core that should be good for around 500hp

Next came a IPD sports cat down pipe from america. It fitted well and sounds lovely.

To compliment that I went for a Snabb air intake pipe. After some initial problems with the lower hose collapsing on full boost they sent me a reinforced hose that seemed a lot stronger and appears to be up to the job. I wasn't a fan of the engine cover they supplied so got hold of an old s80 3.2 engine cover ( fits engine but also cover gap where standard intake is removed) After modifying it to fit the new intake I thought id have a go at carbon skinning. Its not perfect but Im happy with the results.

Having done a bit of research it appears the standard turbo diverter valve can look boost at higher revs so I purchased an updated GFB valve from australia which uses the standard solenoid but uprated spring and seat. The difference was immediately noticeable. Boost was so much stronger at higher revs

One other thing that did frustrate me was the rear discs. They were just a standard 302mm disc that looked lost in the 20" wheel. I found some american kits that uprated the rear discs but also caliper which i didnt want to go for as they required some cutting on the rear and also a electric/hydraulic handbrake that would pass an MOT. So i spoke to reyland motorsport who made me some 2 piece rear 350mm discs with less offset than standard to allow for a mounting bracket of the standard caliper.

Iva also fitted a TDI tuning box so should be around 400bhp now. But it will be going for a custom remap when i have a minute to get it done.
But I must say I love this car Its such good fun Sounds mint but is a bit of a sleeper.

Really really nice. Volvos do hold a special place for me. Those wheels are massive!

Yeah they are the standard wheels. 20" Has 6 pot 371mm brembos on it. Can just get a set of 19s on it but they are tight.

So had it mapped its doing 385hp Not as high as I hoped but apparently its quite a low reading dyno. But torque went up to 420lb/ft (550nm) from 2850rpm right through to 4400rpm. So pulls like a train :-)

Who did the map? they key to reading dyno results is getting them to do a before figure, did they do one? if so was it less than you were expecting the OEM file to make? if not they you cant really use the under reading dyno excuse.

I'd be looking for some lowering springs for that, maybe 20-30mm just to make it look less on stilts with the big wheels.

Yeah they did and it was about 35hp less than the standard figures. As for the suspension it's all Polestar equipment 80% stiffer than standard V60 But has Multi adjustable Ohlins shocks on it so bit loathed to alter it as the handling is very good for a big estate.

Ah thats good then, so chances are your overall figure on another 2 independent rolling roads will be somewhat closer to what your expecting.

Ah yeh forgot they had the special suspension, is there no height adjustment on them then?

No Only damping adjustment. Rear is separate damper and spring.
