Accused of running someone over
Discussion
I pick my son up from the same spot each day from school. Today some old bloke comes out his house and says I can't park there. I inform him it's a public road but il move my car if he so wishes. He starts swearing at me telling me I need to reverse and I can't go forward. Another parent was going past and stopped, asked the old man if he could step aside so they could drive past. He stuck two fingers at them and told them to get lost. He then stood in front of my car put two hands on the bonnet and said reverse now. I told him to move aside so I could drive forward he refused. Was in a pure rage! I nudged the car forward and he dramatically dropped to the floor and crawled on to his drive.
I haven't heard off the police as yet. I've got a good mind to call them myself.

Not sure that would help - it'll show the OP running the guy over.
Yes even road rage, unless you feel threatened, can't reallly run peds over, no matter how angry you are.I suggest op contacts guy and apologises and doesn't park there anymore, only to not escalate situation further,
Old people, my parents included, get very protective about space outside their houses, even if there are no parking restrictions.
I take it you weren't blocking his access etc?
I take my 6yo to school by bike to avoid this exact kind of kerfuffle, at least once a week I will see a resident kicking off at a fellow parent, but it's usually because an idiot parent has parked across their driveway.

So you did run someone over, not accused is it I haven't heard off the police as yet. I've got a good mind to call them myself.

I have a witness - parent. Also a random kid from the school came up and said that bloke is a nutter.
You have witnesses who 1. can testify that you 'nudged the car forward' and assaulted the 'nutter' and 2. the bloke was evidently a 'nutter'. I'm sorry but 2 doesn't excuse 1.

yes being angry and touching someone's car, doesn't constitute acceptability to ''nudge'' them. The bloke could obviously claim civil and criminal, best bet is to go round and apologise.I'm sorry but 2 doesn't excuse 1.

Afraid you might be rather ducked here.
If he is the resident village idiot, no doubt he will play this up massively to anyone who will listen, including the Police. A gentle nudge may become a wheel spinning 40mph head on charge so I'd definitely be wanting some witnesses just to cover that alone.
Of course though, holding a car in first gear on the clutch without a handbrake can make the car jump forward if your foot slips due to a distraction like someone raging in front of you... Not the smartest way to drive but accidents happen.
I'd be avoiding that area like the plague though for the foreseeable future.
