Can resin bond be put on wood?

I'm thinking of a resin bond (rather than resin bound) surface on my patio (which is a raised decking area). The boards are looking tired given the garden is south facing they look cooked. Composite means a complete rebuild plus I'm not a fan of that look.

Doing my research, I cannot see any reason why it is not possible, provided I replace the decking boards with something like 18mm marine ply or shuttering ply. For a good bond, would adding a backer board be better?

If resin bond will adhere to wood (internet research says it will) I'm also thinking, for rigidity, to board over the existing decking boards mayebe using a membrane between the two.

I stayed in an Air BnB house on a short break to watch the balloon festival and the balcony had a resin bond surface (white stones) which I really liked. From what the house owner says, it too replaced a wooden floor:

You can see the old boards just to the edge of the shot.

New:

Does anyone have any experience of resin bond?

I'm sure it can be done, but is it worth the effort as the decking will be shot in 5 to 10 years, I had decking which lasted 7 years.

I'd be concerned about the longeviity of whatever boards you use.
Also about mverment at the joints and sealing the edges of the boards.

I don't know what resin is used for binding/bonding gravel but polyester and epoxy resins are commonly bonded onto wood with acceptable results so long as the wood stays dry.
If the wood can get damp, then a sheathing layer can accelerate rotting.

OSB with a layer or three of fibreglass might be a long lasting solution, if done right with the edges and underside sealed.
