I bought a new to me Range Rover a couple of weeks ago. 2021 P400 Vogue in Carpathian Grey. A lovely thing.
The bad news was as I was driving home, I took a stone in the screen in an otherwise pristine car, causing a chip about pound coin size, maybe a bit bigger. Anyway, Autoglass (via my insurers) insisted that it needed a new screen. Having dealt with Autoglass before, replacing the screen in my wife’s Boxster years ago (three months and the main dealer doing it with an original screen at Autoglass’ expense in the end), the thought of going through that kind of bull**** again put me right off
I decided to get in touch with Glassman (Paul), having read plenty of positives about him here, who took a look at a photo and told me it was repairable so I was quite happy to let him take a punt. We originally planned to meet at Porsche in High Wycombe (I’m near Reading) where he was scheduled to do some work for them. He had to cancel that but very kindly agreed to meet me somewhere mutually convenient instead.
Unlike the likes of Autoglass, Paul does all repairs manually which minimises the risk of screen failure during the work and gives a superior finished product. I started to take a particular interest when the mini drill came out to clear out the hole properly in the top surface. Anyway, I had nothing to worry about and the finished product couldn’t be any better, given what I presented him with. (See before and after photos below). While a repair of this nature will never be invisible, I’m very pleased with the result and especially pleased I didnt have to use Autoglass.
No affiliation to Paul, I just found him on here, but a very satisfied customer.

Wish Paul was closer to me, as I have a small crack just outside of the 'A' zone. Passed an MOT, so I assume it's fine...but it's annoying to see it all the time.
Similar experience of insurance glass replacement companies, as one of my windscreens was never fully sealed properly despite a few attempts at fixing it (wind noise and condensation).

Another vote from me too. Autoglass made a right hash of a repair on my Range Rover which just left it looking as bad as it was beforehand. Chance encounter on PH led me to Paul who managed to repair the shoddy work as best he could by actually trying to repair it rather than just sticking a gadget on it and hoping for the best.
It's pretty obvious from the off that Paul knows what he's talking about and if I get another problem he'll be my first port of call. He's also a thoroughly nice bloke as well!

Autoglass are a rip off, they rely on being recommended by pretty much all insurance Co”s and charge accordingly.
I”m surprised the insurance companies let them get away with it.
I had a crack in my old S3 windscreen about 12 years ago and didn’t have windscreen cover at the time.
Autoglass quoted something like £600 + vat to replace it, had it done by a local guy for £325 all in.
