Our current driveway is about 100m2. It is a combination of gravel and concrete. Some gravel on top of concrete, some bare concrete and some gravel on, I presume, hardcore.

We have three vehicles and due to the shape of the driveway we are constantly turning the cars round over the gravel on full lock. Gawd knows how old it is, but the gravel has shifted off the concrete bits, has deep ruts which are muddy puddles and one area (not used much) has been infested with grass and a few weeds. Generally looks very tired.

I like the look of the gravel as it suits the style of the house. (1840s converted Stable House).

So, I want it replaced. Any recommendations of a suitable replacement. Would those gravel grids stand up to the constant three point turns and abuse? Or other alternatives?

Gravel grids will be fine.
You dont need to grid everywhere just the high traffic areas like where the ruts are.
You could be cheaper and it will be easier to spread out getting the 10+ton of gravel delivered by a tipper.

gravel is the bermuda triangle for 10mm sockets and nuts if you ever happen to work on your car.

That is true. But one section, in front of the garage, is pure concrete which is fine when my old van breaks down again!! smile

Thanks that sounds like a solution to only partially gravel grid....that means the transition to concrete won't create a gravel grid step too.

Getting a tipper truck in will be impossible, with a ten foot stone wall to the front with only a small person sized gate or a tricky exit over our neighbours property to get access for our cars to the road. (Two tight narrow 90 degree bends)
