I have to admit, the little red card we get through the door says "Please leave 48 hours before attempting to collect your package from the sorting office"

Hi Robert

Thank you for your recent order of Grand Theft Auto IV. We're sure you're looking forward to this Tuesday as much as we are.

We've got some great news. To guarantee you receive your copy on time, we'll now be sending it by Royal Mail Special Delivery.

And don't worry, there's no additional charge for this. We just want to make sure you're amongst the first to get your hands on the hottest game of the year.

Please remember that your delivery will need to be signed for. If the postman can't get a signature, you'll always be able to collect it from your local sorting office.

If you have any questions, as always, feel free to contact us.

Many thanks!

Games Dept,

This might be of interest, the comparison of the San Andreas map to the new Liberty City map, to scale. Yes its smaller but it doesn't really matter becuase theres tons more to do, and if you got it for the XBOX 360 there will be downloadable content the size of another big City apparently

Im guestimating, but LS looks maybe 60% bigger than SA, in terms of intersections/junctions - not counting the miles upon miles of "wasted space" in san an.

Which is more or less what rockstar hinted at, I think. A necessary area-size reduction to cram more streets (and more game) into a much smaller area, due to the higher res of the new next gen systems, not so?

Anyone got any links to new vids online? Seems all the sites which were displaying them earlier, YT included, are pulling them as fast as they are appearing, with Rockstar threatening intellectual property rights infringements or some such.

That is pretty much it. Less means more this times, which is good news.

Unfortunately thats not the offical map from what I've read/seen. This is a picture of the map that comes with the game apparently http://game-on-game.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/00011.jpg . The one you posted is prety close though, so may still giva a idea of size compared to San Andreas.

They said the other day that it will be about 3 times the size of the GTA3 liberty city, and that wasn't tiny.

Hey, TimDarracott, if you've got a UPS tracking number by now, you may want to check it - my 360 is in transit back to me. W00t! Looks like Steve Evil was right about there being weekly collections for returns.

Looks like the 360 is going to arrive before the baby at this rate!

it's usually a 3 hour difference between an attempted delivery and a collection from local post office?
nono If they attempt to deliver on a Friday it's Saturday before you can take the little red card to the PO to collect. 'Least it is round my way.

Not had any happy emails from HMV yet re. my spec ed order. Fingies crossed. Getting it delivered to the office! 5 days to go (I hope)

I didn't get my pickup notification until fairly late on the Thursday afternoon.

I have a GAME and a Woolworths just down the road from me so I will take my chances either on Monday night or on the Tuesday morning. There's noone home to sign for packages so pre-ordering made no sense for me, and to be honest on past experience I'm not convinced that everyone will get theirs by Tuesday anyway.
