Not quite on same thread but I just heard that there's been a slight U turn (rolleyes) in my part of the world on the new centres. 2 that were to close seem to be staying open but for some reason or other only for car tests. Bikers have to travel some 25-35 miles to a bike test centre confused

My instructor told me it was changing when i took mine.
It's not going to happen instantly it's going to be phased in as it says on that site.
Apparently they wanted to change DAS age to 25 & either our government or the EU government wanted to change it to 28 for the DAS but the compromise was supposed to be 25, obviously its been changed to 24!
No idea why this involves us as we are'nt part of the EU - technically.

I remember the old days (pre 1982) where you rode a figure of 8 route around the streets and the examiner stood at the side of the road and watched you.

When it was safe, he would then step out into the road so that you could do an emergency stop (usually miles away from him).

If it was raining, the tests took a little less time to pass.....
