Just bought a STATIC caravan (don't worry, haven't even got a tow bar)

I was having look underneath and I can see loads of yellow and green wires running to a copper pipe which looks to have been stuck in the ground at some point but has been pulled out.

The van sits on top of a concrete slab so is isolated from the ground.

I plan to stick the pipe back in the ground (right?), but do I need to do anything else? Is this a bodge?

It's just passed its tests, I'll have a look at the paperwork then query the park owner.

Surely the rod just goes into the earth anyway and the concrete just secures it?

They help to remove the STATIC electricity nuts

I'm guessing earthing a caravan is the same as earthing a house.

That's to say, 60cm (ish) long copper rod which sticks in the ground, with the earth wires leading to it.

Pretty simple, pretty straightforward, 5 minute job for anybody with a lump hammer and a screwdriver.
