I need to get hold of a PC that's only function will be to sit online and perform certain robot tasks via wireless but the £199 mini Acer is now out of stock at John Lewis and the other big names all seem to start at £300

I only need to have wireless and a reasonably memory, hard disk is not important, but needs min 1 yr warranty, any suggestions?

I am told by one of my guys that we will need to stick XP Pro on the machine when we get hold of it.

That BareBones link looks like giving us what we are after smile

John Lewis must be one of the most expensive places in the country to buy PCs from.

Got any techie mates? They could cobble something together out of old bits for free.

Novatech's usually pretty good for those barebones systems

But they're one of the most cost-effective places in the country to buy Macs from... two year warranty for the same price as Apple, no quibbling and you can return / exchange to your heart's delight...

FWIW if you want really cheap, don't need power, then why buy new? Pick up some second hand PC for sod-all, even a 5 year old box is going to be powerful enough to run many tasks unless you're decoding video.
