Some swine has scratched all down one side of my Chimera. The scratch is not very deep so I have tried to use T-cut to get it out. It didn't work. Could anybody advise anything that might work?

T-cut is the last thing I would have used, its very abrasive. If standard polish like Mer or Autoglym resin does'nt improve it, then you are best trying some of the specialist scratch and swirl removers. These are sometimes available from Halfords.

Take it easy, if it doesn't get better, dont make it worse

I had the same on my Griff Mark, a couple of weeks ago. I did try T Cut (it was the metallic paint version) and it did improve it considerably even to the extent that although I can just still see the scratch most people wouldn't. Autoglym on top of that might be even better. Good luck!

Try a bottle of turtle wax that comes with Lipstick type scratch remover. Use the scratch stick and give the turtle wax away to your dad. Certainly will make the scratch less noticable. Polish with autogylm.
Joe public may not notice scratch but the worst thing is that you know its there.
Good luck

Boggett : it's spelt "Chimaera". You've had two over four years so you really should know better. Tut tut!!

G3 cutting compound and 3M machine polish I have used with some success in the past. You should be able to get some from a bodyshop supply place, about £30 or so.

Alot of Bodyshops/valaters will "mop" the car. If it's not deep this will get rid of it Cost about £30. Becareful they are a reputable company as the process takes off a thin layer of paint.

I had managed to damage the paint work getting off some marker pen last weekend :/ Before I tried the t-cut, I took it to the local body shop and asked the advice of the boss there. He said to try t-cut and if it doesn't manage it then he would have the kit to sort it out for around 30 notes.

Same thing happened to mine - about 3 foot long. I used autoglym paint restorer and it took about 4 hours. It's not as abrasive as T-Cut and the mark has gone completely. Follow the instructions carefully and you will be alright.
