iPhone 4 Jailbreak

I currently have my iPhone 4 (4.0.1) jailbroken via www.jailbreakme.com and love it however I want to update my phone to 4.1.

How would I go about doing this on a Mac? I have tried reading articles but it all confuses me talking about transferring files etc...

Any help would be greatly appreciated

So bearing in mind its already jailbroken what do I do to upgrade? Backup then restore the phone then upgrade to 4.1 then jailbreak via the above link?

From what I remember (I got shut of my iPhone a few months back, so have somewhat 'left the scene.'
I'm certain iOS4.1 will not read a stand-alone back up of iOS4.0x
Seem to remember the only method was to go through iTunes.

So, with this in mind - you will need to un-jailbreak your iphone.
Connect to iTunes, back-up and upgrade as normal.

Once on 4.1, re-jailbreak.

May want to do some searching though just to ensure, but that method will work.

Could always be worth performing an an additional encrypted back-up which will create a "stand-alone" back up, so if it doesn't work - you can always downgrade your iOS (google search for the sites hosting earlier versions of iOS,) then restore with the encrypted back-up.

NB: MAKE SURE TO USE THE SAME PASSWORD AS YOUR ITUNES ACCOUNT PASSWORD. (Don't ask me why, it's what I read on several guides and so just accepted their method.)
