Been pondering some enhancements / additions to my k series roadsport.. not that I particularly think it needs more power. Part navel-gazing, part I have an urge to fiddle..

Cams: Supersport, or BP270H – with or without verniers? Both seem broadly comparable with the 270’s being a little more sporty than the supersport.. Having read around I’d not want to take the rev limit past 7200 (I understand the supersport ecu gives a higher limit, but then it seems eventual piston failure is all but inevitable if you make use of that limit). I’d also want to retain the standard hydraulic followers.

Verniers: Seems from reading DVApower that the cam timing tends to be a smidge retarded. Much (any?) mileage in properly timing the standard cams, or any point in putting in ‘hotter’ cams without verniers?

Exhaust: Have the standard 4:1 internal with weedy looking headers. Powerspeed seems to be the stock answer, possibly more inclined towards trying to pick up a ‘standard’ system off a one of the more up-spec cars that flows better, or false economy? Is there much point in doing any of the above (cams etc) without the exahaust?

I can see possible(?) advantage in sticking to the supersport spec on the basis it makes the car a ‘supersport’, and is probably better for resale (opportunity & value) than just messing around with custom spec; not that I’m looking at it as anything other than a money sink, I just don’t want to make the car unsellable in the future / get the impression that ‘modified’ caterhams don’t go down too well?

Appreciate any thoughts / advice.
