Just bought a 2007 1.6L Caterham / 5-speed gearbox I am having difficulty in engaging reverse gear normal operation depressing gear lever & going left & up to obtain reverse. The operation to depress the lever is very stiff is there any way I can lubricate the movement.
Many thanks for your replies the car has not covered many miles in the last few years & the stiffness could be due to that. I will remove the lever & carry out what you did.
Finally got round to sorting out the gear lever as per your post it required cleaning & re-greasing it now works fine. Many thanks again for your write up / pictures.
