Sunday 1st - Run out
Discussion
Then may I suggest that the West/North Yorks people meet at Woolley Edge Services (M1 Southbound!) at 10:30am for a 10:45 am departure. We should get to J36 by 11:00. If it's okay with you PB I'll phone you as we leave and meet you enroute, the same as BT&P.
Just a thought, do we need to book for lunch if there are going to be a few of us?

If anyone thinks they might get lost, they can always meet Rods and myself at J31 - just take the A57 towards Sheffield for half a mile or so, and we'll be in the lay-by at 10.30-ish.
Someone give Martyn directions,he definately has a tendency to get lost
Psychobert is going to post/email people later today. I'll also email MOD my mobile incase he gets lost between the services and J36.

Chim_girl how long do you reackon to get to Woolley Edge?
Still up in the air whether I gonna make it or not see how weather and a couple of other things shape up
PS your mail is not working!
I would say it will take you about 2 hours to get to Woolley Edge from Worcester. M5, M42, M1. Probably 1hr 40 if you meet Rods, Nubbin etc further down the motorway instead of coming further north to double back again.
Right, off the see what's happening with my email

So, where was this speed camera? I thought I'd arranged a route devoid of such things..
Anyone notice what speed I went through them at BTW? I'm just wondering about a speedo calibration.. Meant to ask on the day..
When I followed you past the camera's on the way to Ladybower you were passing through the 40 limit at about 34-36 mph. Due to the absence of a functional speedo we were using my GPS sat nav thingy. I've tried it in a couple of cars and it has proved very accurate. If you want to borrow it on the next run give me a shout.

Anyway, s'all Adamski's fault, we were just trying to keep up with him as we didn't know the way...
We didn't see your spectacular driving but I do remember Adamski overtaking a shopping cart followed by an "oh feck, camera's" type comment. Sorry guys!!
Note to self... get the camera software loaded onto the sat nav for the next run.
We're thinking about heading down to Bruntingthorpe on the 21st March, anyone else going?
As for the next Yorks run, how about something like the 14th March? With a bit of luck the weather should be nice by then.

Hi Chim_Girl, nice meeting a fellow "Powder Blue" Tuscan owner .

I have been looking for a gadget that does both Sat Nav and warns about speed/"safety" cameras. What are you using?
I have an iPAQ with TomTom software, you can download a selection of 'tourist attractions' (I kid you not) and one of the options is for 'safety camera's!

I am also thinking of going to Brunters that weekend, as a spectator.
Same here, too much of a wuss to have a go myself. Maybe next year.

14th of March sounds like a good day for a run, I will see if we can get a few more of the North West region interested this time. .
Cool! Any idea's where to go? Burriana suggested the West Yorks lot should organise something, whatever we decide to do I suggest we try to book for us all to eat somewhere. Oh and maps, lots of maps

Eh! What? Did I?
Whoops, I had naturally assumed the good ideas came from the creative department not the management consultants. Sorry Simon
It was Psychobert who said said:
Since we all had a cracking day, I've a few ideas for a route closer to Bakewell area for later in the summer. Only fair to let West Yorks organise the next one as North and South have done one each now. Or, we could go a little bit further West and visit the other side of the Pennines..
So WYTVRCC, get yer thinking caps on. Oh, that'll be you Burriana!

take M62 J24 onto the A640 by Huddersfield, that goes over the Pennines towards Oldham on a few miles of VERY fast road with great visibility (and no speed cameras this time )
Potentially a good photo shoot opportunity at the top, too (it would ruin the run a bit, though).
The early morning drive to the office suddenly became far more appealing.

Actually the preliminary design work was carried out by the creative department, I just refined the strategy. The fact that the implementation of one of the key deliverables, (photoshoot) was buggered up I am sure was due to user error.
Or something.. Sorry, only just home and have had a day of speaking fluent bo11ox @ work
you're very fluent..
