I am looking at a 2001 Elise which has a recorded claim against it. It will be my first Elise, service history up to the current owner is realitively unknown, car has had a major service, 2 front shocks and a few other bits within the last 12 months.

It was exported from the U.K in 2007/2008, U.K reg was RX51ZGM if anyone knows the car?

Have read several buyers guides and the man maths can be worked, aside from a cam belt change what work would be recommended on a car with 46,000 miles and a poor history?

I suppose the question is am I crazy buying an insurance recorded car with no history or should one keep the head down and increase the budget later in the year?

All opinions greatly welcomed
