4.0L standard re-build ,

I'll leave out the boring details but I'm looking at a rebuild potentially and my budget is sitting at standard build money...but I'm still tempted to go further. How many of you have gone for the standard rebuild and regretted it?
Has anyone Had a few extras done to the engine whilst rebuilding to 4.0L spec that are not going to break the bank but are noticeable? How much more is RR?
I've read up on the FFF head, the offerings by str8six and the big 4's by Dom...( and a few others) and I think my mind is made on taking her to Powers.
I know the Rover V8's well but I'm not there with the sp6 yet. Of course I will pick Dom's brain further but It would be great to get some feedback before I drop in there later this week.
