306gti-6 strange noises!

Got some weird noises coming from the car, need an engine mount replacing (rear stabiliser one-on bottom of engine,just started to perish) when pulling away and braking there is a loud crack. Could this be down to engine mount or would it be likley suspension probs/ball joint?

Any ideas on things that usually go on the 6? also my speedo is a bit tempramental is it cable or electronic?!
HELP!!!
