I work in the Swindon Honda plant that builds these so see hundreds of these in all different colours! Out on the road I still think they look fantastic, great road presence.
Honda had three at GFoS so I had a good look around. Looks great in the metal. Yes, it's completely OTT, but I like that.culpz said:
It's not really that for me. My B9 Audi A4 is a doddle to park for the most part, given it's fairly large size and dimensions.
It's more of when you're pressing on at speed. For me, it wouldn't be too confidence inspiring. I know not everyone would agree there.

Congrats! Let us know how it goes (a Readers Cars thread would be cool)
I wonder if they will ever do an auto version. They say it's manual only to keep the pure driving experience, but I wonder if it's actually because they don't have a suitable transmission to put in it. I can't think of any other auto Honda, sold anywhere, that could lend its transmission to this car.
I have seen both reasons given: "Type-Rs should be manual" and "Honda don't have a suitable auto box".I wonder if they will ever do an auto version. That's like a 1990s Max Power readers wk fantasy given form. There must be a market of people who grew up ruining their corsas and so on trying to make them look like that who now have the means to buy it ready made. I think they call them "Wallet Barrys" on BarryBoys
I like to think if Lamborghini made a hot hatch, it would look like this. And everyone would love it!TXG399 said:
I'm really struggling to get my head round the styling, but you have undoubtedly picked the best colour by a mile! After seeing multiple FK8's at FoS and a few on the road I really don't think that the red, black or white work at all, while this blue/grey you've chosen is really very nice.
Enjoy!
It looks like primer in photos, but looks very smart in the flesh. Enjoy!
So, two days after picking my CTR up, Bambi decides to run out in front of me. Absolutely nothing I could do. Annoyed and upset is an understatement!
Damage to plastic bits only, and the foglamp is missing, so should be as good as new once repaired, but after waiting three months, another three week wait to get it back is killing me! Only has 220 miles on the clock...

The dealer checked, and all the parts required are available. Waiting for the insurance company to assess it at the moment, as I am not using their "approved" repairer.
Seems I spoke too soon. The repair shop is telling me that Honda say parts won't be available until "early October". I am about to explode.AmitG said:
Is it driveable? From the pictures, it seems that if you remove the O/S corner grille (which I believe is purely cosmetic) the car looks OK to potter about in?
It was driveable and with hindsight, I'd have kept it until they were ready. However, now they've already stripped the front bumper off.AmitG said:
That's pretty poor. Surely it is basic common sense to have the replacement parts to hand before you take the old ones off!
And now they have the problem of storing the car while the new parts come in.
I think they had to strip it to determine exactly which parts were needed. And now they have the problem of storing the car while the new parts come in.
I made a call to Honda customer services and they have someone at the factory on the case, so fingers crossed!
