Just bought a CR V
Not the most exotic of motors but I'm impressed.
Traded in a BMW 328i for what I hope will be a much more reliable vehicle.
So far driven 100ish miles and it feels so much more comfy than the BM and with better visibility.
Dealer pics for the moment but will post more pics tomorrow if anyone interested.

Off out later on a landscape, maybe incorporating the CRV photo trip around Seven Sisters.

Absolutely love it.
Not as outright fast as the BM but far more comfortable and refined. What the BM should have felt like IMO.
On paper the BM 328i is 0-60 in apx 7 seconds whereas the CRV is 12 ish but to be honest I've not felt I've needed any more oomph, and still has all stuff like cruise control, sat nav, parking camera, bluetooth phone connectivity, heated seats........
I would not hesitate to recommend one.

My CRV's a 2.0 iVtec 5 Speed Auto.
Got most of the toys the i328 had and I still can't get over how nice it feels to drive.
Personally I would not go near a Diesel or any German car.
No maker can manage a 100% reliable vehicle but I've had better experiences with Japanese, Nissan Almera, two MX5's and a Honda S2000.
I did have two IS200's but could not get on with their "wooden" steering feel, maybe needed some work on the front end?
During my research I saw Honda is having trouble with their diesels, recalls and TSB's.
I didn't really much else on my current list to replace the 328 touring, maybe an RX450 but the load capacity is a way off the CRV.
I was trying to steer clear of SUV's but I'm glad I took the plunge.

I've not had mine that long to comment much but from what I read although they can have issues like anything mechanical they have a reputation for being uber reliable.
I wouldn't touch a diesel for many obvious reasons.
Get yourself over to the owners forum. Very knowledgeable bunch.
