Just spotted this pic on the recession thread but didn't want to derail and go off topic.
Can anyone explain just what purpose the huge array of radar domes and antennas serve here?
There must be a least 20 domes, aerials and antennas of all shapes and sizes, I can only think of 3 general requirements for them, communication, navigation and weather, so why the need for so many? Even military ships don't seem to require that many, at least not on open display.
