Anyone watch Goonzquad ?
Initially I was like "God these two twerps are very annoying", but been watching them for years, once you get past some of the schtick (Dan son, Yessir etc) and see the skills, work ethic and imagination you get drawn in, they have done very well and do seem nice lads, their parents join in as well. Nice to see the progression and variety, sometimes its cars, then they get onto building their houses or a their "shop".
What I cant understand is that they give away some epic prizes, fancy truck and 30 grand cash, Rolexes in random merch orders, does anyone know how the economics of that work ?
I've watched them on and off for a few years, I think when they had a 458 a few years back?Initially I was like "God these two twerps are very annoying", but been watching them for years, once you get past some of the schtick (Dan son, Yessir etc) and see the skills, work ethic and imagination you get drawn in, they have done very well and do seem nice lads, their parents join in as well. The Senna really is a big project, the money involved in seemingly innocuous panels etc. As with all youtubers, certain stuff is annoying with them but they seem to want to do a good job which is good.

Anyone else really finding the OG Youtubers are really boring these days?
STG / Tim mainly (SoL fell off the wagon a long time ago).
They just don't hold my attention any more.
I tried STGs last few videos (Hurrican in the Desert and 12 Cilindri) and I find them light, self indugent and slow paced.
Tim seems to be focused on these ultra long and slow second channel videos at the moment which just don't hold my attention.
Have they had their day? Or are we just all so hooked on fast paced super car rebuilds?
It seems to have been a very long time since Shmee (the OG of this thread) was mentioned. Last video was 11 days ago, one of his highest views for a while at 450k buying a Corvette ZR1 (nice choice). One of his highest view counts in the last 6 months is a 'Lamborghin racecar Vs Mcdonalds Drive Thru' at 576k views.STG / Tim mainly (SoL fell off the wagon a long time ago).

It really is interesting to see the difference in view counts between a legacy Youtuber like Tim vs Mat
Mat 30 day view count - 25m+ views (490 videos total) - 130k extra subs
Shmee 30 day view count - 6m+ views (5383 videos total) - 10k extra subs
Mat really is absolutely killing it when you do comparisons like that. I would still say Tim is the most enduring and popular of the 'old school' but the new boys are pulling insane numbers.....
