Did the Mayans get it wrong by 4 years? Economic collapse next week? Mexican ladder manufacturers to see boom in sales? America to double GDP by 2020?

I thought the Brexit fallout was going to be an interesting watch.

If he can get the Republicans to unite behind him now, he'll effectively control the executive, the legislative and the judiciary.

He should in theory be able to get a lot more done than Obama.

What have I missed whilst everyone seems to be calling it for Trump?
Not sure if you haven't woken up yet or you don't understand how this all works.

They called California very early in the night, 55 votes for Clinton. She may win the popular vote, but he has the electoral votes.

All that talk of infrastructure spending and jobs for all..... all sounds rather leftish considering he is supposed to be a Republican?
It's pretty strange. He's talked about the same stuff (minus the frothing nonsense) for years in fairness. Maybe this is the new face of American Republicanism that the GOP needed. The old one wasn't going anywhere.

Do you think he really has any strong opinion on abortion?

He's been mostly pro LGBT - when he won the Republican nomination he made a point of getting the audience to applause for that community and then went on to thank the audience for doing so and how it made him so happy.

Do you reckon he reads his bible at night? Or owns one?

Infrastructure spending is one of those few areas along with education where government spending has a huge multiplier effect.

Maybe the act he put on throughout this was just that? Or maybe he'll be a complete disaster.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

No I don't think he really cares about abortion or religious issues either way. I happen to think a lot of investment in certain areas would be a good thing but it is just strange to hear it out of his mouth. What he is arguing for in terms of infrastructure and education could just as easily come out of Corbyn's mouth.

Shame he has all the racist/sexist baggage.

But it is about time the "establishment" woke up to the fact there are an awful lot of very pissed off people all over the West. The economic system is just not working for so many people... hence Brexit and now this. This result just goes to show people will no longer put up with being told what to think... Clinton had almost everything stacked in her favour but still failed miserably.

Yep. Brexit was no anomaly. There's a huge change underway in Western democracies.

I kind of agree with what you are saying re: demonising people and people being sick of being told what to think... however I don't see it as a simple left/right issue anymore. Brexit and now Trump have cut right across the left/right divide. Surely it has more to do with a broken economic system, globalisation and loss of identity?
Insiders and Outsiders, David McWilliams puts it.

That saddens me greatly. Always thought of him a bit like royalty; an institution whose influence on the country outlasted any political noise.

Truth bomb for those on your Facebook feeds flabbergasted Trumps 3 million illegals comments;

2.3 million people were deported from the USA under Obama's watch, over half of which for misdemeanours thanks to a programme that linked local law enforcement to Homeland Security immigration systems.

Don't ask me, I didn't vote for him.

I just thought it was hilarious the professional outrage artists getting it even more wrong than usual.

If those are genuine tweets, someone needs to tell the President Elect that it is time to step away from Twitter, for the next four years.

He sounds like a petulant child, which (I assume) is not the image he's going for.
Power to him I say. The US media had a light shone on all of it's ugly parts last week and deserve more criticism than some passive aggressive Tweets.

On the transition team thing, apparently he took Chris Christie's list which was full of lobbyists for big corporations and threw them all out.

TBF, the show's worth watching because viewed through a lens lens skewed by confirmation bias than Marsh Phantoms, it was actually pretty pragmatic and even-handed.

This Anonymous video on media brainwashing is very interesting: https://www.facebook.com/anonews.co/videos/1394889...
I went off him a while ago myself, but he does seem to be back on form, American Autopsy is superb. What do you mean by "picked a side", would you prefer it if he was laying into Clinton?

Surely it's about the person that won and the effect that will have.
He used to rip everyone apart. Then he decided that it was more important to go after "the right"

Trump adds Elon Musk and Uber CEO Travis Kalanick to his advisory council.

Had a big sit down with the who's who of tech people today as well.

Hopefully a good omen.

You mean the off the cuff remark made in private, similar to comments that 99.9999% of men and women have made at some point, that we have to pretend we're horrified by in polite company?

For the record I'm not defending his comments, I simply don't buy the faux outrage over them.
