Whats driving me up the wall this morning is that the headlines make it out as though the yob involved in the G20 assault has shown some remorse/character and "came forward". Whereas in fact all that likely happened is he saw the videos of himself on TV and made a calculated decision to come forward now, before someone, eventually, puts him forward...

It's absolutely pathetic... What kind of c**t do you need to be to assault a person with their hands in their pockets walking away from you?

I used to work as a bouncer in nightclubs and seen a few scraps with the public. The general rule is unless in immediate danger you do not resort to physical violence. With time your confidece grows and you seem to learn to avoid and resolve incidents that normally would have been a guaranteed fight... You sometimes would get x-cons who are only doing it cause they get paid for being violent and short fused twunts but they generally don't last that long.

Seems to me that it's not very different in the police force: some cock got his riot gear on and thought it would be a laugh to flex his muscle on a guy walking away from him backed by 20 of his armour clad colleagues. Oh yes I am the man!!!! So hope he gets locked up and gets his asshole made a lot wider by other inmates!!

Seriosuly, while I do not condone what the officer did, it does look from the footage that the guy was deliberately trying to antagonise (check spelling) the police. Right at the begining of the footage it appears he was spoken to by another officer and was pushed then, though more gently. He then however continued to drag his feet while they were trying to clear the street. If he was unwell should he not have said so? He may have done, but we dont know yet. If he didnt the police would have moved him on forcibly if he was considered to be ignoring there comands.
Antagonising the police or not the forceful shove is still not appropriate. If it was, then that video of a gilr being tackled and punched in the face by a police officer for kicking her shoes toward him would have also been acceptable.

I believe that in a heart attack scenario a person's arms go limp, the speech gets slurry and they drag their feet. Perhaps that's exactly what happened?

Even if not the guy is facing away from you and IS makin gprogress, he is NOT standing there he IS moving away shoving him to the ground does not speed up his moving away.

I can see no redeeming circumstances in that video myself. No matter how i look at it, the appropriate action would have been to just let the man carry on.
