Judge tells a yob: you deserved that kicking:-
A JUDGE stunned a court yesterday as he told an Asbo yob he "deserved a good kicking" for attacking a cop's car.
Judge Anthony Scott-Gall told binge-drinking Dexter Vidal he was "not surprised" the woman constable's two adult sons had confronted him in the street.
Neighbour Vidal, 20 - who'd had a row with his pregnant girlfriend - ripped his shirt during the fracas.
Judge Scott-Gall, 63, told the court: "I'm not surprised he was given a good kicking - it's what he deserved. If someone punched my car then I would make sure, if I had two sons, that he was given more of a good kicking."
But then the judge - who has previously blasted a couple for kissing in court - added: "Possibly not having regard to the job one holds down."
Alissa Scott-Beckett, defending, told Lewes Crown Court her client "got more than he bargained for".
Vidal, of Eastbourne, East Sussex, had earlier admitted causing £400 of damage to PC Ginny Jupp's car. He also admitted an unrelated assault, and breaching a suspended sentence for possessing a knife and Asbo for harassment. But the judge deferred sentence until March after hearing Vidal had now turned his life around.
