Car is a shed of a Renault clio, 53 plate, 72k miles and apart from the usual NVH you'd expect from a french biscuit tin on wheels it drives spot on. Noticed yesterday there was an annoying squeak coming from somewhere when the wheel is turned a couple of degrees either side of dead centre.

Looked under the bonnet and this happens to the top mounts (not my car but mine is doing that).

Should the rubber bits rotate with the shock assembly like that or is something up? I sprayed them with some white grease anyway and this has killed the squeak and the car drives fine.

Even if they shouldn't do that I am inclined to leave alone, it was a £280 car so budget for maintenance is £0.50. It did pass it's MOT last monday though so it's staying until it's demise. Will someone please tell me that is normal so I can sleep tonight. Thank you.

Cheers, to it's credit the little biscuit tin handles really well. I can see how the sport versions must be a right giggle.
