Just to keep the discussion seperate from the general weekend woffle, and keeping it on the factual side rather than which tribe we like - What specifically is the problem?

The pants I get - probably won't make a blind bit of actual difference but on the logic that once you allow standards to slip a bit where does it stop, okay.

But nose/ear rings? I hear the potential to need an MRI but most rare metals pose no risk and this can be checked quite easily?

If you'll permit me the indulgence of comparing my humdrum existence with that of F1 driverslaugh I used to get it a bit in my industry, that due to electrical conductivity I shouldn't have nose or ear piercings. My slant on it is that if the nasty voltages are within 10mm of my stinking face and closing I've utterly failed on so many levels I'm not sure it's going to make as lot of difference at this point and probably don't deserve to be a sparks any more anyway. Strikes me more a vehicle for old curmudgeons trying to inflict their outdated ideas on people.
