I'm expecting to someone to say this has already been posted but I did search and couldn't find.

Apparently the evening standard posted the number plate of the car. And the Police say the owner was not present during the incident but hasn't given up the driver yet.

Oh? And what would warrant a response like that?
I've no idea, unfortunatly the cyclists contribution was not captured on video. (convenient?)I'm pretty sure the motorist didn't lose his temper to the point of stopping the car, getting out and t

What is your view?
EDIT. I'm not suggesting that the cyclist deserved such an extreme reaction but I'm quite sure this was not a random attack.

See, this is why - when seconded to a site in SE London between February and April of this year - I drove down there like a f
king saint.
Everyone - car, bus, taxi, pedestrian, cyclist, biker - just seemed hell bent on attacking me from every side; almost as if they were testing my reaction times. As such, I quickly assumed that every single road user was a psychopath and drove akin to an IAM instructor.

Watching both videos, I think its a typical 'im a cyclist you cant come anywhere near me in your car on the road' and he has lashed out at the car. Then, s
t him self when he saw a load of meat-heads that got out.
I also find it very very very hard to understand how he gave a detailed report of how close the car was, and how he heard them being abusive yet the cyclist didn't recall or hear anything being said to by himself or his friends. I don't think that is how an argument works.

Quite possible. Although speculation.

However, even if that was the case. Given how the meat heats behaved, you could also speculate they were driving dangerously in the first place to cause the cyclists to react.
