This is something I've been trying to do some reading up about but could do with some extra advice.

I bought a car back in December which I'm now selling. I would rather sell it now because the tax will run out at the end of the month, and I think the MOT too.

The problem I have, is after calling the DVLA the last owner still hasn't sent off the V5.
I have the green slip, so I'm told I can apply with a V62 to get it myself. Happy to do that, but it can take 4 weeks to arrive, by which time I'll end up with a car with no MOT and tax.

What are my options? Can I sell the car and the new owner apply for the V5 using a V62 and by paying £25? How safe is this?
Any advice is appreciated.

I might end up just having to tax and MOT it... but if I can avoid doing that it saves me money and hassle. I'm having to sell it because I'm taking a career change to something I've always wanted to do, but gives me much less time to play with cars. frown
