Ford Focus RS Heritage Edition launched

The 50th anniversary of the Ford Escort is reason enough for a runout edition of the RS

Back in December Ford treated us to a limited run Focus RS Red Edition and now, ahead of the end of the Focus RS production on April 6th, they've bolted on a couple more upgrades and revealed the Focus RS Heritage Edition. Only 50 will be built and they'll only be available to the UK market.

As an homage to the introduction of the RS brand to the UK and 50 years of the Ford Escort, the RS Heritage Edition will be painted in 'Deep Orange' featuring grey brake calipers and black forged alloy wheels. It'll be based on the RS Edition meaning contrasting black mirrors and rear spoiler differentiate it from a standard RS, whilst the Quaife limited slip on the front axle is included as well as a dealer-fitted FPM375 Mountune upgrade increasing power output to 375hp and torque to 376 lb ft.

Andy Barratt, chairman and managing director of Ford of Britain, said: "The RS brand is hugely important to Ford and is recognised across the globe, however, it has a special place in the hearts of UK Ford fans. This latest model is the best RS we've ever produced, so it seems a fitting tribute as we approach its 50th anniversary."

And for the price for all this? It'll be £3,600 more than the RS Red Edition at £39,895 and order books are officially open.
